St. Louis Man Wins Four Times The Prize

When the jackpots start to climb, it can be easy to forget the other big prizes your Draw Games tickets could be worth, like $40,000.

Eric Hopf of St. Louis added the Megaplier for an extra $1 to his Mega Millions ticket for the Feb. 23 drawing. And when his ticket matched four white-ball numbers and the Mega Ball number, he won $10,000. But Hopf’s win wasn’t over yet. The Megaplier number, 4, quadrupled his $10,000 win to $40,000.

Hopf purchased his ticket at QuikTrip, 11802 Lusher Road, in St. Louis. The winning numbers on Feb. 23 were 7, 11, 13, 19, 58, and the Mega Ball number was 9, and the Megaplier number was 4.

Mega Millions is a twice-weekly Draw Game with jackpots starting at $40 million that grow until someone wins. There are nine prize levels in the game, ranging from $2 to the multi-million jackpot.

It costs $2 to play, and for an additional $1, players can add the Megaplier feature, which multiplies non-jackpot prize winnings up to five times their normal value.
