LOTTERY IS LOOKING FOR A FEW GOOD DOGS

Think your dog is the luckiest dog in the world?   Now you have a chance to prove it in the Missouri Lottery’s new "Lucky Dog" Photo Contest.  The Missouri Lottery has teamed up with Three Dog Bakery in Kansas City to give you and your canine friend a chance to win prize packages with Scratchers tickets, memberships to the Three Dog Bakery Original "Lucky Dog Club," doggy treats and Lottery T-shirts.  In addition, your adorable pooch could be featured on the Lottery’s Web site, www.molottery.com!

"Players really liked ’Lucky,’ the Jack Russell terrier we featured in our summer promotion two years ago," said Jennifer Kempker, promotions manager for the Missouri Lottery.  "We brought ’Lucky’ back for this summer’s promotion.  People love their dogs, so we thought this would be a great chance to let them show off their canine companions, gain awareness for our summer promotion and have fun all at the same time."

The summer promotion, called "Dog Gone Lucky," starts June 28.

To enter the "Lucky Dog" Photo Contest, all you have to do is mail or e-mail a photo of your special dog and answer why you think he or she is lucky in 100 words or less.   The theme is "My Lucky Dog," and the photos that best capture the theme will win.  Photos must be received by July 25.

The Missouri Lottery and Three Dog Bakery will select a total of 37 photos.  Winners will be notified by mail or phone sometime during the month of August. 

The grand-prize winner and his or her lucky dog will receive 50 $1 Missouri Lottery Scratchers tickets, a 12-month membership to the Three Dog Bakery Original "Lucky Dog Club," two "Dog Gone Lucky" Missouri Lottery T-shirts and a front-page feature on molottery.com.   Eleven "top dogs" and their owners will receive 25 $1 Missouri Lottery Scratchers tickets, a "Dog Gone Lucky" T-shirt, treats from Three Dog Bakery and their photo on the Lottery’s Web site.  Twenty-five "honorable dogs" and their best friend will receive 10 $1 Missouri Lottery Scratchers tickets and their photo on molottery.com.

In addition, players also will have a chance to enter their pet’s photo for the 2004 Missouri Lottery calendar, if the photo meets the calendar criteria.
