FLORISSANT BUSINESS OWNER WINS $50,000 TAX PAID

A Florissant business owner was “amazed” when he found out the numbers he dreamt two months ago were drawn in the May 28 SHOW ME 5 Paydown game, bringing him a $50,000 tax-paid* top prize.   Timothy Ray, 46, said he bought his lucky ticket at Stop ‘N’ Shop Food Mart, 1620 Chambers in Dellwood, when he stopped to get a soda.

Ray said he plans to pay bills with his winnings and invest the remainder.

To date, 55 players have matched all five numbers drawn to win $50,000 tax paid in SHOW ME 5 Paydown since the game began Nov. 6, 2000.

*   The Missouri Lottery will pay 27 percent federal and 4 percent state withholding taxes for the top prize based on it’s value.  Depending on personal income, winners may owe additional taxes for the prize, or they may be entitled to a refund.  Total value of the top prize is $72,463.76.  After withholding, winners will receive $50,000.  If more than 14 players match the five winning numbers in a single drawing, $1 million will be divided equally among the number of winning tickets.
