Kansas City Woman Grateful for Another Lottery Win

Claiming a Missouri Lottery prize never gets old. Just ask Sheila Anderson, whose most recent visit to the Lottery’s office in Independence was to claim a $3,250 prize from last night’s Pick 4 drawing. Anderson adds the prize to a $1,300 Club Keno win last summer and a $169,000 Show Me Cash win in 2012.

In fact, the Kansas City resident has a Lottery collection of sorts.

“I love getting my checks,” she said, referring to the oversized ceremonial checks seen in many photos of Missouri Lottery winners. “I have a pile of checks under my bed.

“I won’t leave here without one today,” she teased.

She likes getting the real checks, too. Her latest win comes from matching the winning number combination of 5-8-3-2 on Sunday night. She won $3,125 from the Straight Box play option she chose, as well as an additional $125 Box prize from another play on the same ticket.

Anderson revealed that she bought her ticket at a familiar location.

“I got it at my favorite store – QuikTrip on 63rd Street in Raytown,” she said. “That’s where all my tickets come from. As soon as I walk in, they say, ‘Oh, here’s the Lottery lady.’

Summing up her experience, Anderson said, “I’m just very grateful.”

Pick 4 is a twice-daily Draw Game, with drawings held each day at 12:45 p.m. and 8:59 p.m.

All Draw Games tickets can be scanned using the Missouri Lottery’s new mobile app to see if it’s a winning ticket.
