WAPPAPELLO WOMAN WINS $100,000 IN POWERBALL

Story Photo A 45-year-old Wappapello woman is going to see the ocean for the first time and meet Mickey Mouse after winning $100,000 in the May 14 Powerball drawing.   Louise Tate said she plans to take a trip to Walt Disney World in Florida with some of the prize money.

“I’ll pay bills and pay off my truck, too,” she said.  “I might give my old truck to my son as a graduation present.”

Tate bought her ticket at Wappapello Sports Two in Wappapello.  She said she selected her winning numbers using a combination of ages and family birthdays.  Those winning numbers were:  20, 33, 34, 45 and 52.

To date, 647 Powerball tickets sold in Missouri have matched all five white-ball numbers drawn to win the $100,000 prize.
