What costs $20, could be worth up to half a million dollars and can also serve as an envelope for a special message, certificate or other gift? The Missouri Lottery’s newest holiday Scratchers ticket named “Happy Holidays,” which will start arriving at retail locations on Oct. 6.

“This is the first ticket using Pop ‘n’ Play™ technology designed to look and open like an envelope,” said May Scheve Reardon, executive director of the Missouri Lottery. “We think players will like being able to personalize these in their own special way to make unique gifts for the upcoming holiday season.”

Reardon noted that this game will be launched earlier than the five other holiday tickets, which will be released on Oct. 16.

“We wanted to secure placement for this unique game early, before the flurry of the holiday season gets underway,” she said.

Reardon said like other years, the Lottery will offer a holiday promotion called “Second Chance of a Lifetime: Cruise Into the Holidays,” which officially begins Oct. 16. Players can enter $10 worth of holiday-themed Scratchers or eligible Draw Games tickets for a chance to win a top prize of their choice of an Alaskan cruise, a river cruise in France or a sailing adventure on a private yacht in the Caribbean. Prizes also include Missouri lake vacations and $1,000 cash.

The Missouri Lottery reminds players not to give Lottery tickets as gifts for children under 18 years old.
