Football Game Leads to Club Keno Win

Story Photo

On Sunday, Sept. 24, Michelle Radik and her boyfriend went to one of their favorite places to watch the Kansas City Chiefs game - the American Legion in Sunrise Beach. There she bought a Club Keno ticket, but she was so focused on the game, she didn’t immediately realize she had won $39,550.

“I buy a ticket every time we go, and I picked my numbers for this one,” said the Gravois Mills resident. “I had both bulls (Bulls-Eye and Double Bulls-Eye), but I didn’t play the bulls; I played the multiplier. I usually don’t pick bulls with an 8-spot.”

When Radik looked back at her ticket from watching the game, she thought she had four or five numbers, but she had her boyfriend check, too.

“John said, ‘No, you have all eight!’” said Radik.

Before heading to Lottery headquarters to claim, they decided to check the ticket at another Lottery retailer, Smokin’ Bones BBQ Restaurant and Sports Bar, in Gravois Mills. The manager confirmed it was a $39,550 winning ticket.

Radik plans to use some of her prize money to help her son with his college tuition this year.

She purchased her winning ticket at American Legion, 852 American Legion Road, in Sunrise Beach. The retailer will receive a bonus equal to 1 percent of her prize.

To play Club Keno, players can choose how many different numbers (also called “spots”) they want to play from 1 to 10. Twenty numbers from a field of one to 80 are chosen in a computerized random Club Keno drawing held every four minutes.
