Lancaster Business Boasts $25,000 Club Keno Win

Buddy’s Place is known for its tenderloins, but the Lancaster eatery can now also lay claim to a $25,000 Missouri Lottery Club Keno win. It happened on Sept. 14 when owner Crystal Brown matched nine out of 10 numbers on her 10-spot ticket. Because she also played the Bulls-Eye option, and one of her numbers matched a Bulls-Eye number drawn, her $5,000 win automatically became a $25,000 prize.

Brown said she was coming out from the kitchen as the drawing results displayed on the Club Keno monitor. She didn’t catch it all, but what she did see was enough to grab her attention.

“I saw it, and I was like, ‘Oh, I have the Bulls-Eye.’ Then I began seeing some of my other numbers,” she said, noting that she routinely plays the same numbers, representing family birthdays and her wedding anniversary.
Brown then scanned her ticket to see just how much she’d won and was shocked when she learned it was $25,000.

“I just jumped!” she said, sharing that her reaction was so much fun that they replayed the restaurant’s video footage of her discovery the next morning.
It was easy for Brown, who lives in Bloomfield, Iowa, to decide what to do with her winnings.

“We farm,” she said. “So we can farm for another day.”

With Club Keno, 20 numbers are randomly drawn every four minutes, and players choose how many “spots” (numbers) they wish to play. They can also take advantage of extra play options – such as the Bulls-Eye, Double Bulls-Eye or Multiplier features for more chances to win.
