Springfield Kum & Go Receives Statewide Distinction

A Springfield business is being recognized by the Missouri Lottery as one of the top-selling establishments in the state.

“This Kum & Go continues to exceed our expectations,” said May Scheve Reardon, executive director of the Missouri Lottery. “Not only were they a top performer statewide last year, but they had the highest sales of all Springfield retail locations.”

Kum & Go, 3015 W. Republic Road in Springfield, joins 51 other Lottery retailers in the 2016 Million Dollar Club – an elite group of businesses each selling more than $1 million in Lottery product.

“We couldn’t benefit public education without the dedication of all our retail partners,” continued Reardon. “In fact, based on Kum & Go’s 2016 Lottery sales, more than $244,000 in funding was generated for public education.”

Reardon said that the Million Dollar Club allows the Lottery to recognize the retail partners that go the extra mile to generate money for education. As a Million Dollar Club member, Kum & Go will be the site of a Lottery-hosted customer appreciation event on Aug. 23.
Since sales started in 1986, Lottery profits have contributed more than $5.7 billion to the state of Missouri and public education. During fiscal year 2016, public education in Greene County received more than $19.6 million in proceeds from statewide Lottery sales.
