Story Photo A Mexico man didn’t have to go to the beach to find a treasure this spring.   Rodd Kibble, 53, said he saw the Lottery’s new “Treasure Island” Scratchers game when he was at Hickman’s Food Store, South Trails Shopping Center in Mexico, today and said he wanted to “try his luck.”  To his surprise, the only ticket he bought turned out to be worth $1,000.

Kibble, who is a machine operator for Nexans in Mexico, said the money will come in handy since the plant is scheduled to close in a week.

“I’ll use it (winnings) to pay bills and stay afloat,” he said.

“Treasure Island,” a $2 Scratchers game, officially went on sale April 26.
