Accidental Choice Leads to $383,000 Lottery Prize

Not knowing exactly which day of the month it was turned out to be a stroke of good luck for a Springfield woman, who won a $383,000 Show Me Cash jackpot using her own set of numbers on June 29.

Eunice Fisher thought the date was June 30 when she selected her numbers, therefore including the number 30 among her choices. She grumbled when she realized the mistake, but when she learned the next day that the winning numbers drawn were 6, 7, 17, 30 and 35, the error turned into a “happy accident.” The ticket she purchased at Price Cutter, 1831 W. Kearney St. in Springfield, matched all five of those numbers, making her the Missouri Lottery’s 466th Show Me Cash jackpot winner.

“It’s amazing,” she said, while claiming her prize at the Lottery’s Springfield office the following week.
Fisher, who bought just one ticket for the June 29 drawing, decided to make the win a family affair, splitting the jackpot with her daughter, Dawn Wood, and her sister Kathlyn McMullin, both of Springfield.

Price Cutter will receive a $500 bonus for selling the jackpot ticket.

Show Me Cash is a $1 daily Draw Game with jackpots that start at $50,000 and grow until someone wins. So far in 2017, there have been 28 winning jackpot tickets with an average prize of more than $162,000. Tonight’s drawing offers a jackpot of $245,000.
