FIRST TIME A CHARM FOR SUNRISE BEACH KENO PLAYER

Story Photo A Sunrise Beach woman won $5,000 the first time she played Club Keno.   Norma Stuart, 70, said her job as a cashier at Shephard’s at the Lake restaurant in Laurie on April 27 had been especially trying that morning.  So that afternoon when she got off, she and a couple of her co-workers sat down and had a beer.  While visiting, Stuart played Club Keno for the first time, and on her second ticket, she ended up winning $5,000.

“I thought I’d won $20,” she said.   But when the bartender checked the ticket in the Lottery terminal, she was told she had won $5,000.

Stuart said every year, she goes to Florida to live with a friend for three months, so her winnings will go into her “Florida fund.”   She also plans to use some of her prize money to pay health insurance premiums.

Stuart picked the winning numbers on her 7-spot game herself.   One number, 32, represents the year she was born, but the rest she picked randomly.  The seven winning numbers were:  4, 17, 32, 46, 58, 65 and 79.

Club Keno began on May 28, 2002.   Players can win from $1 to $100,000 per $1 ticket per drawing.  For more information on the game, go to www.molottery.com.
