Raytown Hy-Vee Recognized for Exemplary Sales

A Kansas City business and their customers are enjoying the benefits of being a Missouri Lottery Million Dollar Club member.

“We are so proud of the work this retail partner has accomplished,” said May Scheve Reardon, executive director of the Missouri Lottery, referring to Hy-Vee, 9400 E. 350 Highway, in Raytown.

Reardon explained that the Lottery compiles an annual list of all Missouri Lottery retailers that each sold more than $1 million in Lottery products during a calendar year.

“We welcome these businesses into the Million Dollar Club every year, and we celebrate their success and their contributions to public education by hosting a customer appreciation event at each location,” continued Reardon.

A record-high 51 retailers are being welcomed into the 2016 Million Dollar Club, collectively generating more than $15.2 million for public education.

“More than $275,000 in funding for education came from this Hy-Vee alone,” said Reardon. “We hosted a customer appreciation event on June 2 at this Hy-Vee to acknowledge the hard work of their employees and to reward their customers by awarding prizes.”

Reardon explained that the Million Dollar Club is a way to honor retail locations that are going above and beyond to raise money for a variety of programs, including A+ Scholarships.
In the most recent fiscal year, more than $52 million from Lottery proceeds went to education programs in Jackson County. Players in Jackson County won more than $65 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, and more than $6.9 million was paid in retailer incentives.
