Waynesville Business Recognized for Exceptional Performance

Since the Million Dollar Club started in 2011, the Missouri Lottery has recognized the retail partners that went above and beyond the previous year. LMC Convenience Store, 1302 Historic 66 W. in Waynesville, is included in the 2016 Million Dollar Club – a first for the business.

“We are so happy to have a retailer like LMC Convenience Store helping us ‘Play It Forward’ to public education,” said May Scheve Reardon, executive director of the Missouri Lottery. “In fact, public education benefited more than $240,000 based on LMC Convenience Store’s 2016 sales.”

Reardon said the Lottery’s 2016 Million Dollar Club consists of 52 retail locations from across the state that each sold more than $1 million in Lottery product, generating more than $15.5 million in funding for education.

“Players who purchased their Lottery tickets from LMC Convenience Store last year won more than $788,000 in prizes,” continued Reardon.

In appreciation of their efforts, the Lottery hosted a customer appreciation event at LMC Convenience Store on May 18.

“This business and their players have gone above and beyond to raise money for a variety of programs, including A+ Scholarships and Special Education Excess Costs, among others. These appreciation events are our way of celebrating the store’s success and reward their customers by awarding prizes,” said Reardon.
In the most recent fiscal year, players in Pulaski County won more than $12.9 million in prizes. An additional $815,000 from Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
