Cape Girardeau Business Re-Emerges As Top-Selling Retailer

For the second time, Huck’s Food Store, 353 S. Kingshighway St. in Cape Girardeau, has been inducted into the Missouri Lottery’s Million Dollar Club – an elite group of 52 top-selling retailers.

“Huck’s Food Store earned a place in the 2016 Million Dollar Club for selling more than $1 million in Lottery product last year,” said May Scheve Reardon, executive director of the Missouri Lottery. “More than $287,000 was generated for public education based on their Lottery sales.”

Huck’s Food Store had previously appeared in the 2012 Million Dollar Club. In celebration of the location’s success, the Missouri Lottery hosted a customer appreciation event on April 27.

“We love when we get the chance to celebrate the hard work of our retail partners in the name of public education,” said Reardon. “The Million Dollar Club event is our way of highlighting their dedication by awarding prizes to Huck’s Food Store customers.”

Since sales started in 1986, the Missouri Lottery has generated more than $5.6 billion to the state and public education programs, such as A+ Scholarships and Special Education Excess Costs.
