Defiance Man's Lottery Win Key To Retirement

A $50,000 Missouri Lottery Powerball win will help Ronald King, Defiance, begin his retirement a little early. King won on the April 15 drawing by matching four white-ball numbers and the Powerball. The winning numbers were 5, 22, 26, 45, 61, and the Powerball was 13.

“I couldn’t stop shaking,” King said after realizing he had won. “This will get me over the hump, and now I can retire.”

King, 67, is a plant manager at Toolco, Inc., in Union. He and his wife, May, are looking forward to the next phase of their lives.

He purchased his winning ticket at Double D Market, 1300 Highway DD, in Defiance. The lucky store sold a $1 million winning “$100 Million Cash

Spectacular” Scratchers ticket in March of 2006.

His advice to other Lottery players is simple.

“When it’s your time, it’s your time,” King says. “And be sure to sign the back of your ticket.”

Powerball is a $2 per play multi-state Draw Game that features jackpots starting at $40 million. Powerball drawings are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m. Research all current and past winning numbers at MOLottery.com.
