Reeves Boomland Emerges as Top Contributor to Education

A record 52 Missouri Lottery retail locations earned membership into the 2016 Million Dollar Club for each selling more than $1 million in Lottery product during 2016. One of those locations is Reeves Boomland, 100 Beasley Park Road, in Charleston.

“Missouri public education is the real winner here,” said May Scheve Reardon, executive director of the Missouri Lottery. “More than $262,000 was generated in funding for public education based on Reeves Boomland’s Lottery sales last year.”

Reardon noted that for every dollar spent on the Lottery, nearly a quarter benefits public education programs in Missouri, such as A+ Scholarships, the Classroom Trust Fund and Access Missouri.

Each of the 52 retail locations earning membership in the 2016 Million Dollar Club will receive a Lottery-hosted customer appreciation event to celebrate their achievement.

“Lottery players who purchased their tickets from Reeves Boomland last year won more than $619,000 in prizes. These appreciation events allow us to honor the locations that go above and beyond while rewarding their customers by awarding prizes,” said Reardon.

Public education programs in Mississippi County received more than $141,000 in appropriated funds from statewide Lottery sales during fiscal year 2016. Historical lists of county-by-county Lottery proceed expenditures can be found under the “Where the $ Goes” section at MOLottery.com.
