Many Missouri Lottery players purchase tickets when the mood strikes or when they have a wild hair. For Linda Cuneio of Sullivan, that wild hair comes along about once a month.
“I don’t play too often; usually when I have extra cash,” began Cuneio, 54. “When I do play, I like to purchase a week’s worth of tickets.”
For practically all of her Draw Games purchases, Cuneio likes to use her own combination of birthdays and anniversaries – 8, 12, 16, 23 and 26. Much to her excitement, all five of Cuenio’s lucky numbers were drawn in the April 6 Show me Cash drawing, resulting in a $132,000 jackpot.
“I checked my numbers online at home on Friday,” said Cuenio. “At first I thought I won $10, but then my husband and I realized it was $132,000. We were both so excited; I thought we were having heart attacks.”
With her $132,000 jackpot, Cuneio plans to pay tithes to her church, pay off the mortgage on her home and purchase a Buick Enclave, her dream car.
Although she had learned of her good fortune on April 7, Cuneio had to wait until Monday, April 10, to claim her prize at the Lottery’s St. Louis office.
“Oh, I was just a nervous wreck all weekend. I hid the ticket in my Bible until we were able to come here,” said Cuenio.
The Sullivan resident purchased her winning Show Me Cash ticket from Fas-Trip, 727 W. Springfield Road in Sullivan, which received a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
Cuenio claimed the 456th Show Me Cash jackpot. Since Show Me Cash sales began, players have won more than $70 million in jackpot prizes alone, with an average jackpot of more than $154,000.
