After a friend won $500 playing the Missouri Lottery “$100,000 Taxes Paid” Scratchers game, Arthur McKinnon decided to purchase his own.

“I scratched all of them, and I just couldn’t believe it,” said the Fulton resident after scratching off a $10,000 prize. “So I showed my neighbor, and he said, ‘Yep, this is a winner, and you need to go to Jefferson City.’”

McKinnon, 58, immediately headed to Missouri Lottery Headquarters in Jefferson City to claim his winnings.

“I haven’t told anyone. I haven’t told my wife yet,” said McKinnon, who has been married for seven years. “I am waiting to tell her after work. I know she is going to be excited, because I am going to surprise her with something special.”

After getting his wife something special, McKinnon plans on using the rest of the money to fix his car and get caught up on some bills.

“This was truly a blessing and came at a good time,” he said.

McKinnon purchased his winning Scratchers ticket on April 5 at Break Time, 405 W. Fourth St., in Fulton.

$100,000 Taxes Paid” is a $5 Scratchers game with more than $15 million in available prizes, including top prizes of $100,000 taxes paid.
