Rolla Business Generates More Than $287,000 for Education

Rolla MotoMart, 119 Howard Johnson Drive in Rolla, is being celebrated by the Missouri Lottery as a top-selling retail location.

“We are so proud of Rolla MotoMart. Not only did they sell more than $1 million in Lottery product last year, but they are also being welcomed into the Million Dollar Club for the first time,” said May Scheve Reardon, explaining that the Million Dollar Club is an elite group of top-earning retail locations honored annually.

By the end of 2016, Rolla MotoMart sold more than $1.2 million in Lottery tickets, which generated more than $287,000 for public education.

“Education is a big winner because of this retail location, but so are the Lottery players who shop at Rolla MotoMart,” said Reardon. “More than $757,000 in prizes were won by players who purchased tickets from this retail location last year.”

Rolla MotoMart joins 52 other Missouri Lottery retail locations – the most ever – being welcomed into the 2016 Million Dollar Club, each receiving a Lottery-hosted customer appreciation event.

“This customer appreciation event is our way to both celebrate the store’s success and reward their customers by awarding prizes,” Reardon said.
Public education in Phelps County received more than $1.8 million in proceeds from statewide Lottery sales during fiscal year 2016. A complete list of county-by-county proceeds can be found under the “Where the $ Goes” section at MOLottery.com.
