Owensville Man Takes Home Club Keno Win

Story Photo

Cletus Rademacher, 36, of Owensville doesn’t play Club Keno often, but when he does, it is always at the Eagles in Sullivan where he is a member.

“I went to meet a friend and decided to play a couple games while I waited,” said Rademacher. “I’ve probably only played 20 times in my entire life, but last time, I won $155 on a 6-spot so I thought, ‘Why not?’”

Rademacher bought four games, but it was the first of the four games that would pay off.

“I filled out the ticket, but didn’t pay attention to the numbers,” said Rademacher. “I handed it to the bartender to see if I won anything. She said I hit double bull and then yelled, ‘Get back here and look at this!’”

Rademacher stared back at his $17,604 win on a 6-spot as the bartender urged him to put the ticket in his pocket. On his way home, he called his wife and shared the good news.

“She yelled, ‘What?’ and just couldn’t believe it,” he said.

As of right now, Rademacher and his wife don’t have anything planned yet for their win. They were already planning a vacation this spring.

“Maybe we take a bit more extended vacation,” laughed Rademacher. “Maybe donate some to charity and put the rest in the bank.”

The winning ticket was sold at Eagles, 1000 Acid Mine Road, in Sullivan.

To play Club Keno, players can choose how many different numbers (also called “spots”) they want to play from 1 to 10.
