Illinois Man Wins $100,000 Playing Missouri Lottery

A Hardin, Illinois, man pocketed $100,000 when he scratched a “$5,000,000 Big Money” Scratchers ticket he purchased on Jan. 8. Treavor McKinnon, 31, said winning was the “most surreal moment” he has ever experienced.

“I never buy Lottery tickets, but I had a couple of good things happen that day. Good things come in sets of three, so my friend said I should buy a Lottery ticket on the way home,” he explained.

McKinnon purchased his winning ticket at On the Run, 203 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, in St. Charles.

McKinnon’s first call was to his wife, Emily.

“She didn’t believe me. In fact, she still doesn’t believe me and probably won’t until I show her the $100,000 check,” he chuckled.

McKinnon plans to pay off his car and share the winnings with his family.

$5,000,000 Big Money” is a $20 Scratchers ticket that offers more than $25 million in $40 prizes, $16 million in $100 prizes, and 15 prizes between $100,000 and $5 million.
