Story Photo A candy maker from De Soto received a sweet treat when she had a clerk check her SHOW ME 5 Paydown ticket from the March 21 draw and was told it was "too big" for the store to cash.   Rose Day, 52, said she found out her ticket was worth $50,000 tax paid.  For now, she plans to put her prize money in the bank.

Day purchased her winning ticket at Globe Warehouse, 1132 Spruce in St. Louis, where she works as a candy maker.   She let the computer generate the numbers on her winning ticket.  Those numbers were:  29, 33, 36, 38 and 42.

To date, 51 players have matched all five numbers drawn to win $50,000 tax paid in SHOW ME 5 Paydown since the game began Nov. 6, 2000.

*  The Missouri Lottery will pay 27 percent federal and 4 percent state withholding taxes for the top prize based on its value.  Depending on personal income, winners may owe additional taxes for the prize, or they may be entitled to a refund.  Total value of the top prize is $72,463.76.  After withholding, winners will receive $50,000.  If more than 14 players match the five winning numbers in a single drawing, $1 million will be divided equally among the number of winning tickets.
