While in the parking lot at On the Run, 510 W. Main in Steelville, a Missouri Lottery player uncovered a $100,000 top prize on a “Whole Lotta $500s” Scratchers ticket.
“I took it out to my car,” she said. “My son was there and pulled up the app to check the ticket.”
Her son then abruptly got up and took the ticket back inside the store.
“He goes in,” she said. “And when he comes out, he just says, ‘We need to go to Jefferson City.’”
Confused, the winner asked him why they would need to do that.
“He just says, ‘We just won a $100,000!’ and got all excited,” she shared. “It was just wonderful!”
So far, “Whole Lotto $500s” players have won over $6 million in prizes playing the $5 game. Over $9.8 million remain in unclaimed prizes, including two more top prizes of $100,000.
In FY22, players in Crawford County won more than $4.1 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $394,000 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $449,000 in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
