Powerball Player is ‘Set for the Rest of his Life' After $1 Million Win

Nov. 18, 2022

“Oh, my God. I’m a millionaire,” a Missouri Lottery player shared after winning a $1 million Powerball prize in the Nov. 5 drawing. He purchased the winning ticket at Lucky T Convenience, 30364 Highway 37, in Seligman.

The winner admitted he didn’t believe he’d won when the store clerk first revealed the prize, believing it was a prank.

“He said, ‘Come here and look at the screen. You won $1 million!’” he shared.

When asked about plans for the winnings, he said he would like to pay off his home and vehicle.

“It’s the best thing that ever happened to me,” he added. “I’m set for the rest of my life.”

His winning ticket matched all five white-ball numbers drawn: 28, 45, 53, 56 and 69. The Powerball number that night was 2.

Powerball is a $2 per play multi-state Draw Game with drawings held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m. All current and past winning numbers can be found at MOLottery.com.

In FY22, Missouri Lottery players in Barry County – where the winning ticket was sold – won more than $6.5 million in prizes. Retailers in the county earned more than $631,000 in commissions, and $631,000 in educational programs were also funded by Missouri Lottery proceeds.
