A Missouri Lottery player who tried her luck on a “Deck the Halls” holiday Scratchers ticket has claimed the game’s first top prize.
The player was at Rivers Edge Grill and Gathering, 1315 S.W. Pence Ave. in Roscoe, when she saw the ticket.
“I told my husband that I was feeling lucky,” she said. “So I went over and bought it.”
After realizing she had won the $50,000 prize, the winner said they were incredibly excited.
“We just all celebrated!” she went on to say. “We were all jumping up and down!”
“Deck the Halls” is a $3 Scratchers game that offers prizes ranging from $3 to $50,000. Currently, there are over $5.1 million in unclaimed prizes in the game, including 3 more top prizes of $50,000.
In FY22, players in St. Clair County won more than $1.4 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $144,000 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $186,000 in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
