$1 Million Powerball Winner Couldn’t Believe Her Luck

Nov. 23, 2022

As the jackpot soared to a record $2.04 billion, a Powerball player in Gasconade County became one of two Missouri Lottery players to win a $1 million prize in the Nov. 7 drawing.

The player purchased the winning ticket at Rosebud General Store, 248 Highway 50, in Rosebud.

“I was just in disbelief,” she said.

She quickly let her husband know she had won the prize, though he was skeptical at first.

“He didn’t believe me!” the winner said. “I had him come in, and I showed him as I scanned the ticket.”

The couple knew immediately what they are going to do with the prize money.

“We were already going to be building a house,” she explained. “But now we get to do it even sooner!”

The winning numbers on Nov. 7 were 10, 33, 41, 47 and 56, with a Powerball number of 10. The winning ticket matched all five of the white-ball numbers drawn.

Powerball is a $2 per play multi-state Draw Game with drawings held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m. All current and past winning numbers can be found at MOLottery.com.

In FY22, players in Gasconade County won more than $3.6 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $356,000 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $424,000 in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
